REVIEW

I picked this Antenna up from Tech808 / Lon, when we visited him and the 1st Sargant back on September 18, 2004.

We drove over to Illinois from Iowa to visit them and attend the the Peoria Superfest (Ham Fest) & Mini CEF Gathering.

Since it was brand new and had not yet been released to the public, he asked Rose and I, if we would use it and give our honest opinion of it in a review for the Copper Forum Members.

And naturally we said said SURE! So here is our personal Opinion and Review of the ANTTRON 2/6M GP BASE ANTENNA.

#1 ~Easy assembly, total time 15 to 20 minutes for complete assembly of the antenna.

I then mounted it per the instructions on a 25-foot pushup pole.

#2 ~ I ran new (RG-213) coax from Copper to our Yaesu FT-2800 2 Meter rig and installed a swr meter in line and had a flat 1.1:1 swr reading and was very happy there.

Note!
The Impedance Stainless Steel Adjuster comes pre-marked for easy assembly and only needed to be adjusted less 1/8 inch from the markings on it.

#3 ~ The performance of this antenna is outstanding.

We have had several Simplex Qso's at 120 miles or so running 65 watts of power.

Although this is a 2 meter and 6 meter antenna, I don’t have a 6 meter rig for testing. I am quite sure it performs just as well on 6 as on 2 meter's.

COMMENTS,

We Highly recommend this antenna for the serious operators that love 2 meter qso's . We have had all good reports on our station.

The first question everyone asked us was what kind of antenna are you using. (The antenna is what makes you get out not the rig or the power).

FOR THE EXCELLENT PEFORMANCE AND PRICE IT CANT BE BEAT.

Respectfully Submitted,
