I've owned many Texas Star Amps over the years and know this for sure, you can't go wrong going with Texas Star! They are consistent and their designed in reliability is top shelf, bar-none. The DX 350 is amp that can be used in almost every modern auto with no problems as far as amperage is concerned, compared with the DX 500 which at a 45 amp draw can be the cause of dashboard lights flickering, meaning that more intensive,"beefing up" of your electrical system is needed. An amp pumps up whatever signal goes into it so, a proper mic and most importantly, the best antenna you can afford and for mobile use, the quarter wave stainless steel wire will give and get you a 2 S unit increase(transmitting and receiving) over a Wilson 1000. The Wilson is a great choice if you have to use a shortened antenna because of parking garages or whatever. Hope this help anyone sitting on the fence over choosing to own one of these outstanding power adders.

The Texas Star DX 350 is a great amp for mobile operation as almost every charging system can handle it need for 30 amps, my DX 500 needed 45 amps and would send the electric system into fits if I attempted to transmit on high while idling at a stoplight but not so with the 350. No problems whatsoever ever! One day, while waiting for the dogs to be cut loose while on a deer hunt in South Carolina I was operating on 12 meters and made a QSO with a station in Kuwait, couldn't believe it really happened until his QSL card came in the mail and in the picture, there the operator was sitting in his Muslim head garb sitting in front of his extensive bank of nice ham rigs. Copper has an extremely competitive pricing and will get you set up with excellent equipment to get the kind of results that will allow you to work the world! Good DX! de John AI4LS- South Carolina

Bought this little amp in January puts out nicely. Leave it to Texas Star and copper to sell a good product.

This is my first mobile amplifier. The Texas Star DX 350HDV came from Copper ready to go. I received it late December 2015 after about a week and a half. Brand new in the box. Hooked it up using Copper's heavy wiring kit. I am using this amplifier behind a new Galaxy DX959B that I also purchased from Copper Electronics. At 4 watts in, the Texas Star comes in at 165~180 watts and modulate up to 275~300 watts. I am being told that it is great sounding. I have talked 25 plus miles local, in the hills and canyon country.

This is my first mobile amplifier. I purchased it from Copper Electronics to run behind my new Galaxy DX 959B. No issues hooking it up. I used Copper's 6 gauge wire hookup kit run straight to the battery, with an inline fuse (supplied), and 10 gauge quick disconnect at the Texas Star amplifier. Additionally, I ran a ground wire from the chassis directly to body ground. With a dead key of 4 watts, the Texas Star DX 350 HDV will put out 180 ~ 200 watts, bumping up to 300 plus when modulating. This amplifier will talk. I am getting great comments back on how good it sounds. Great little amplifier. Copper Electronics has been good to do business with.
