i need some info about a t-star 500, I will be running a general lee dead keying 4 watts, driving a t-star old type mod with 2290, to drive the t-star 500. About much wattage should the 500 swing with the mod driving it? swr is 1.3 or lower, 500 will be running off a 850 cca battery with a 10 amp battery charger, ----will this be enough juice to run the 500? and how many watts of dead key into the 500 from the mod? thanks, johnny Triple 9 |

As for the power supply , it should be plenty. I run a Texas Star 500 in my car and it does a cool 400 watts peak. It is a real work horse and I have had mine for about 6 years, never broke yet.. 307 |

I would get a bigger battery charger at least a 40 amp. |

you don't need a driver at all. the 4w carrier swinging to the max pep(and really not even that much) of the general will work best with the 500. |

You should get 375-400 PEP with just the drive from the radio.........500+ PEP with the drive from the TS Modulator. |

Spark check the 775 palomar and the 667v out first for the money anyway. |

Crafter....I bought a 775V a while back for SSB operation and I like it. It has smaller finals than the TS 500 but the output and audio quality on SSB is great. |
