Capt_hook,the sure 444 is a good mic for a tube type(high imp) or solid state radio(lo imp).especially when used with a speech processor.it is the stock desk mic of a lot of older rigs like Yeaseu, swan and siltronix. |

I tried to use one on a President Madison once and it didnt work worth a darn... Is it the old blue mike that they made back in the 1970s? They also made/make a 526T that ive heard is a great mike!!! |

I have an amplified Shure 444T that works great on any radio I wire it for, at present it is wired for my ICOM-735 and have been getting good reports on this microphone. 73, Carl CEF-357 |

Cm3885,there were(are)several different versions of the Shure444 mic.both ceramic and magnetic.had one of the ceramic versions once and after replacing the mic element with a new mag cartridge I dissected the ceramic cartridge and found the ceramic chip inside was broken(it ratteled when shaken). |
