Hi there, I have a stock Cobra 2000gtl. The dead key is 4w out. I notice that it flutters up and down alittle, basically not stable and its starting to really bug me.. Also, the mod meter moves a touch up and down when I key, and turn down the mic gain all the way. There must be a part or setting or such that is causing this radio to somewhat "osciallate" or something. The freq. counter is dead on and matches a external freq. counter. Any help or ideas of why this radio is not putting a stable dead key would be greatly appreciated. Its even more noticable when you turn on a amp. It fluxuates even more. Must be a bad cap or something somewhere that is causing this??? |

My stock Cobra 2000gtl dead key is set at 4watts, and it seems to fluxuate up and down and wiggle on the meter, about 1/4 watt up and down in each direction. Also, the mod meter shows a touch of noise or something, its there when I turn the mic gain all the way down. On air reports say that the carrier with the mic down all the way down sounds like a light "wind noise", like if I was in the mobile or something. There must be a bad cap or part need replacement or something needs adjustement or such. Any help on this matter please let me know! Thanks! |
