I have the mod. maxed out on this radio and tried a compressor on it the compressor killed the modulation is there a limiter in this radio?

Yup there is a limiter in that radio BUT if you remove it you will only end up disabling the FM audio also cause the AM audio to be seriously distorted and sound bloody awful , and splatter spurious emissions all over the place even into other bands i.e Ham Bands , TV , Broadcast radio etc , trust me I have tried it with very bad results , so in my opinion better to back the audio off a little to let the compressor do it's job which is to give you 100% clean and clear loud audio rather than end up with audio that no-one can understand you .
