What filters and to what application? Of course they work, in theory and some work in application.

It is really a question of are they practical.

I used MFJ Tunning cuictry to delete noise but the thinf also made it neccessary to tune the filter, each time I changed channels. Easy enough vut also a pain in the rear end.

If you filter out white noise, and it can be done, you also loose any aufio modulation in the same audio freq range.

First mistake was getting XM, Sirius is the way to go (BuzzSaw-Real Classic Rock). You could try those ferite filters. Radio Shack sells them but you can get them much cheaper at RF Parts, and they have different size filters for different size wire. I need to order some myself.

I like XM better, more "alternative or hip" it's a personal preference though as i have a more obscure taste on music. As for the power plug emmision, I have heard of the problem before, I do not believe it is a problem with older adaptors because I have an original roadie and the problem is not present with the normal one AND the one with the modulator in it. Even worse is the fact that it could have directly introduced noise as it was in the same power grouping as the CB.
