I have a Texas Star 667V (5 Pill) and would like to make it a 4 Pill so that I can drive it with my new S9.
Seems to me that all I would have to do is bring the incoming coax jumer over to the location of C22 -- ground to one side and hot to the other.
My question is:
Would doing that modify the input impedance and if so, in which direction would it change and to what degree? Also, what would be necessary to return the input to 50 ohms if that is required?

Hi Cruzer,
Disconnect the driver from the finals. When you bypass the driver you will need to check and see how much capacitance is going to ground at the input of the drivers splitter. You will need to adjust this value for the lowest swr between your radio and the amp. The easiest way to do this is solder in a variable cap and adjust for lowest swr. Then remove it measure it then put in a fixed value cap. The lowest swr to the input will usually have the highest power out.
