Need to know where the control is at that sets the AM dead key on the Texas Ranger TR-696FD1 (Freedom One), This is the sideband mobile that has the American flag and 6 digit frequency counter.
Thanks in advance for any help offered.

I think it should be the same as the Galaxy DX-949/959 radios, VR 14 sets AM high TX limit, VR 18 sets AM low TX limit

Thanks for the info guys, I now own the radio and it was peaked and tuned at a truck stop shop and the AM dead key was way to high. Radio works great now.

The Ranger Freedom One has only one pot for AM RF output power adjust. There is just a carbon resistor across two points where the other AM VR pot should be on the board. Although the board is labeled for a VR pot at that location on the board.
