i need some tech help.i have a cobra 142 gtl,and someone tried to do the clarifier mod to slide and it looks like they did it right but the clarifier wont work at all.i want to fix it or find the original spots and put everything back.thanks,dave |

Jyd, There were many different clarifier modifications for this radio. And it also depends on which PLL chip your radio has wheather it is a MB8734 or a MB8719 chip. You may have just the simple clarifier modification below if you have the 8719 that gives you about 6khz of slide. #1 ~ Cut R187 and D36 #2 ~ Find the red and orange wires comming off the clarifier knob. Cut them where they connect to the PCB. #3 ~ Solder the red wire to pin #3 of the mb3756 IC. Solder the orange wire to PCB ground. NOTE! If this is the modification you have just REVERSE IT. i swiched the orange and the red one and hello! works.now i just need to get some one to check it iut and alighn it? |

i got it all lined up,do you know the driver base and the final base settings? and setting for receive,which cans? |
