Tech808. I went to the radioshack and tried to get a service manual but they don't sell them anymore. Do you or anyone else know how to get a hold of the tech info???

Turtle3564,

L106, L104, L102 as stated above is your AM Power Setting Adjustments.

You will need to adjust all three of these to lower your dead key and set the power where you want it.

Hope this helps.

Hi,
I've also got a rad shack trc446. I'm getting a KL-300P amp from Copper - ordered today! and I've heard I need to turn down the power to 1 or 2 watts on the radio. (Any suggestions or advise on that?)

Anyway, using the L102-106, how do these adjust the power? Does each need to be turned down the same amount? Is there any order in which they need to be turned? Can anyone provide a step by step instruction for this (or another radio) where I can just substitute my L102-106?

I have access to a SWR/watt meter, so I can monitor the adjustments. It's just that I'm not sure what I'm looking for, but I'm ready to try :-)
Any words of wisdom or a link to some would be greatly appreciated!!! :-)
p.s I live not too far from Copper, do they accept drop-ins for a peak and tune? Otherwise, I don't know of a CB shop/tech in the Asheville NC area. Anyone? Thanks
Mark
