Hello all. Just placed an order for the S9-80 turbo. Like to know from people what they like or dislike about the radio? Any special wiring conditions I need to meet? I already have some ham gear in the vehicle so my pwr comes directly from the battery. The antenna is roof mount Wilson 1000. Your comments appreicated. Thanks! |

Sorry, never heard of an S-9-80 TURBO. Do you happen to mean the: Magnum S-9-80 W/Nitro Knobs shown below?

Astatic 636L This mike work well with the Magnum S9-80? If not what would be a good mic to put on? Thank you! |

Hello, ok great got the 636L and sounds great! I have another question since the knobs and all are still rather too bright for me, even with in low setting, is there a pot adjustment (if so, what is the ref.designator number on the board, and location) where I and turn down the brightness? Otherwise I like the radio, works great! |

Midwess, Sorry but after talking with Sam Lewis today his suggestion was to have a good tech add small resistors to lower the voltage / DIM the NITRO KNOBS. Lon~Tech808 CEF#808/HAM#001/CVC#002 Tech808@copperelectronics.com
