Hello.
I want to ask owners about AM RX performace.
On the schematic I saw that RX circuit is very simple and primitive. First stage nothing special, 1 mixer nothing fancy, ceramic filters from lowest shelf.
1. How clean you can hear station transmitting 5KHz away from you RX frequency with signal strength around s7-9?
2. You are talking on channel 6 for example and somebody 200m away from your station is transmitting on channel 30 for ex. Can you continue or yor radio is becoming deaf and bleedover is only thing you can hear?

Can anyone post honest opinion about RX in 257? Selectivity, IMD dynamic range.
I don't want to buy radio I won't be satisfied. Now I run heavy modified Lincoln (HR210) with TX and RX mods and filters swapped on both IF stages with channelguard installed.

To be honest I don't have those issues with my 257.
It TX and RX very well for me and this is coming from a Hearing Impair Radio operator.
If you have read over the many 275 owners reviews here on the Copper forum you would see most of us owners liking are 275.
Bottom line: think you be very happy with it. it's a very nice little radio with a lot punch.

What is so great in it Big m? Lack of repeater shift in memory cells? Wide IF filters? Maybe blue backlight? I don't care about high output power. I have external PA.
I own many of radios before, Lincoln is most "narrow" and selective so far in my opinion.

While the Magnum 257 is a """GREAT""" radio so is the President Lincoln.

Personally I would """NEVER""" get rid of PRESIDENT LINCOLN radio as it is a GREAT RADIO and COLLECTOR's radio to hang onto. .

I sold the Lincoln 5 years ago I just never had much use for it.. It was a nice radio with the chipswitch and receiver mods.

I STILL have a HTX-10 and a MAG-257 that get used on 10 FM all the time. They work just fine.
