Hi Techs,
I purchased a homemade 6 pill linear amplifier from ebay. It has 6 Motorola rsf3749 transistors. I took it to my local CB repair shop for a bench test and they told me that it needed a new relay and new transistors. They also offered me $25 dollars for the linear. My question is how do I know the pills are bad? Are they trying to rip me off? What input would I need to drive this amplifier and what output should I expect? Is there a cross reference replacement for these transistors if I have to purchase 6 more? The unit is a mobile amplifier.

Thanks for all your help in advance.
