i have a uniden washington the 5 pin washington.on the extra channels it seems to be mising channel 46,73 and 83.is this normal or should i be able to get those on this radio?or no?i bought it from a buddy of mine but im not sure if those channels should be in there or not?thanks.....by the way how low can this radio go on the lowers?right now it goes to 26.815.....i was told it can be made to go down to 26.000 |

Also the speaker in the uniden Washington makes a crackling sound then after it does the I have to turn the volume up. What could this be? |

Freebird I don't have the channel (frequency) guide in front of me but, you will be missing any frequency that falls between channels 3-4, 7-8, 11-12, 15-16, and 19-20. These channels are 20Khz apart from one another. All the rest are 10Khz apart. This holds true for ANY CB radio including most (but not all) 10 Meter radios. Getting the "extra" channels off of the PLL chip, yes, the bottom frequency will be 26.815. It wont go any further than that without adding crystals. You're not missing anything down there anyways unless your a hardcore A-M'er. Jeff, kc0gxz. |

The crackling is probably dirty contacts on the volume switch. Trick 1 is to spin it up and down real fast several times. This sometimes helps clean it. If not, contact cleaner. |
