I have a Realistic Navaho base This is the part that will HURT. My wife got mad at me one day and threw it at me! (It hit the dresser insted of me though.) Now channels 1 to 20 work great but 21 to 40 not so good. 20 is 20, 21 is also 20, 22 is 22, 23 is 22 also 24 is 24, 25 is 24 also and so on and so on all the way to 40. HELP!?!?!?!?!?! Darn women can't live with em and ya can't fit them in the trunk of a compact car with a full size spare!!!!!!

Bullet LOL. Good answer Bullet. And I'll be remembering that for future reference and possible use. ------------------------------------------------- Hattrick I would start by heating up the ol soldering iron and touch up every pin on the PLL chip. Touch up everything in that vacinity. There's a good possibility that you may have a cracked circuit board. With time and patients, you may just get it working correctly again. If not, use Bullets' sound advice. Good luck. Jeff, kc0gxz. |

Sounds to me like she has done something to the channel selector switch itself. Look at it and see if the shaft looks bent and/or if there are any broken solder traces on the pc board in the area where the channel selector is. Have seen this a lot on radios which get dropped at truckstops. |

I think a nice DAK Mark X would be heavy enough so that she can't throw it - not to mention would really fit the name "BIG RADIO"! |

Hattrick, Just take some digital pictures of your radio, print them out, and paste them on cardboard, like they do in the appliance stores, she might be able to throw it farther, but it wont hurt as much!! |

Look closely at any wiring/solder connections between channel selector and the main board. Do they have two PC boards mated together at a 90 degree angle and solder drizzled between solder pads to make connections...very common design mistake on a vibrating world when it comes to loose/cold solder joints!
