I can't seem to find any info on the Icom SM-8 mic. This model has two cords on it for operation two different radios. Anyways, I'm trying to get it to work on a Kenwood 2000. Any ideas?
Also, would you by any chance know what the color/wire code is on the Heil Goldline? This is the one with the two elements in it. I just need to know what wires are what.
Both of these came to me without any paper work and I knew if anyone could figure them out it would be you.

Here is some info I found.
The ICOM SM-8 desk mic has an electret condenser type mic element and gives clear tone over a wide variety of voice levels. The gooseneck may be adjusted to any angle. It features UP-DOWN tuning (on compatible ICOM transceivers). There is a switch for PTT (push to talk) and also a lock feature. This mic has two line inputs (A/B) for operation from two transceivers. ICOM even includes the second mic cable that you can connect if needed.
On the bottom of the mic base there is one control for tone. Plus there are separate level adjustments for input A and input B. The mic cables terminate to a standard ICOM 8 pin mic plug.
The SM-8 can also be used with the 706 series with the addition of the optional OPC-589 mic adapter cable.

Here's an update Lon.
Got the Icom SM-8 to work on the Kenwood-2000.
Still looking for the color-code for the Heil GM-4 Gold Line. By the way, this top dollar Heil is no-way worth the money they are getting for them. Nice mic, yes---great mic, no!!

OK Lon.
I had to take the Heil Goldline apart to see where and how the wires were hooked up. Come to find out this thing only has 4 wires in it and 5 wires in the cord with one of them cut at each end. You know, as in "not being used"?
I'm going to bypass the PTT and run it into my Kenwood MC-60 and do the switching from there. That may prove to be a interesting combination.
