look at the mic connector and you will see small numbers by each pin receptacle. here's the wiring. 1-audio (the wire with the shield around it) 2-sheild (the one around the audio wire) 3-receive 4-ground or not used 5-transmit |

Dinker1, The Stock wiring for the Cobra 2000 5- Pin is: PIN #1 ~ AUDIO PIN #2 ~ SHIELD PIN #3 ~ RECEIVE PIN #4 ~ Sw Wire PIN #5 ~ TRANSMIT If it is a Sadelta: Bravo Plus, Echomaster+, Echomaster Pro, ME-3, or MB-4/R Beep Mic the wiring/color for it should be: PIN #1 ~ WHITE / AUDIO PIN #2 ~ N/C PIN #3 ~ GREEN / RECEIVE PIN #4 ~ SHIELD PIN #5 ~ BROWN / TRANSMIT Hope this helps, Lon Tech808 CEF808 N9OSN |

maybe we need some clarification here. i have always been of the mindset that the shield braid that is wrapped around the audio lead should be connected to pin#2. the one right next to the audio lead. on a D104 this would mean that the blue wire goes to pin#4. i have no hard data as to why i do it this way, its just always worked and my mics dont squeal. if anyone has reasons why i should wire these the other way, please post them here. |

I agree Kid Vicious. Pin 2 is the microphone audio ground, and pin 4 is the switching ground. Unless the microphone manufacturer recommends something else that's what I'd do. |
