THINKING ABOUT SETTING UP A S9 FOR A BASE, BUT I WAS WONDERING IF THERE IS A DESK MIC THAT WILL COMPLIMENT THIS RADIO, NOT SQUEAL OR OVER DRIVE IT, BUT SOUND GOOD AND CLEAR, ALSO HOW GOOD IS THE SSB ON THIS RADIO? |

I have used numerous Mic's on my S9 base. Currently I am using a D-104 on one side and the Silver Salute on the other side. Most Mic's work fine on the S9. A lot of it comes down to personal preference, Which mic you like the most will be the one that works best on the S9 for you. WILDRAT MARK 27.285MHZ CEF674 CVC029

I like d104, but I heard that it might not work with the s9, because of the modulator. THANKS! for the input! |

It works on mine and others around here. I do not use that To Gun modulator for other reasons, but I have used the 104 with the TGM on before and no-one said anything about it. I usually run my 104 cracked open a bit and radio mic gain at about 3 o'clock. WILDRAT MARK 27.285MHZ CEF674 CVC029

lobsterol, i have used my S9 with a dm452, astatic d104m6 handheld, 575m, road devil, 1104c, turner +2, +3, silver eagle, shure 526t, & probably a few others. i have NEVER gotten any other report then LOUD & CLEAR. different mics change the tone of my voice, though none have ever been said to be 'wrong'. the road devil i'm told makes me sound 'exactly like me'. the 526t & +2 are close. |
