im going to be adding a coax switch from coppers to it and add a coax plug to the front of the rack setup so if i want to play around with another radio i can just plug it into the front and its already hooked to all my equipment, then i can put the carpet on it.

im starting to build the optional top to it. the top has 2 speakers hooked to a 7 band eq and a rack mount 50amp power supply. eq helps tune the highs and lows so u get really nice audio from your radio and if u get a good one u can get it to cut alot of "white noise" out for u, but there up there in price.

hmm do u want the equipment to kb?? or just the rack hehe.. would hate to be the one paying for shipping on somthing like that lol
26" hight x 22" wide x 16"deep empty is about 100lb's.. oh one more thing the meter on the texas star lights up green

Pp1616,

If you have the time, would you want to post the materials & instruction's that you used here on the Forum so eveyone can see?

That way it would always be here for future viewing.

If you type it out in a Post and submit it I can copy and paste it into your Picture / 1st Post for you.

Very very nice looking station, but didn't I notice a hand mic. on the Galaxy. At my station this would be a little harder to put together. Because the way my built in desk is there is a door on the right wall for my electric service panel, I have no place else to put something like this type of a set up. But I am thinking of doing something in the future to make my shack better looking. Yankee

ya thats a cobra power hand mic i was using a galaxy desk mic but the person i was borrowing it from wanted it back and i have yet to get me another. hope to order one soon. as to the problem of the service door, this unit can be made in diffrent hights and u can put wheels on the bottom so its easy to move or fuzzy feet so it dont scratch any thing when u move it =) ill find out the diffrent size rack rails u can get and post thim with the instruction's on how to build one. mine is built for abuse it can be made out of lighter wood. i build custom speaker boxes for cars and some home audio and i use 3/4in mdf so i have lots of it around, and sense im going to be moving this unit back and forth from my house to my other house where my tower and beam is going up it was a really good way to go. one bad thing is with this kind of set up u really need to have a blower or fan system to blow air in from the bottom and up to the top. i have 2 handles on the sides that are great for moving it and is also for air to exit. now the blower unit i used is from a 7ft tall computer rack so its over kill but i like it because i can adjust the power with the dimmer control and it has a filter so my equipment stays very clean. also when u mount all your equipment inside u take off the covers to the radio (u dont have to but if u can it helps alot) and any other equipment so the air really cools thim down. more to come on this as this is a on going project. ill be taking it all apart so i can mod a couple things on it when i do ill take more pics to post so u guys can get a better idea of how it looks in side. all the power wires are secured to the side on clips and cox is on the other side. hope u guys enjoy this feel free to email me with any ?'s

I would take a pic with my digital camera of my equipment and share but I can't get it small enough to post. Lon, do you know how to decrease the size if I can send one to you?
