My personal opinion is, if I had my antenna in the air at all, I would not waste the money or time and effort for what little bit if any it helps.

Thanks, I read the article but I'm not a scientist or engineer so cutting through all the technical stuff, corrcect me if I'm wrong, but is the only real considerable benefit using the GPK at my antenna height (90') a reduction in TVI?

How would I determine wht my take off angle would be at this height?

the groundplane kit will help lower the take-off angle which is good for DXing.

on an antron 99, it doesnt do too much for the signal, but because the IMAX is a 5/8 wave antenna, it benefits from a counterpoise.

so, there are benfits. as to how noticable they will be; who knows.

if it were my antenna, i would add it.

BUT! i would only buy the GPK if i was already running good coax like LMR400, 9913, or the stuff copper sells that is comparable.

your coax run is long. you need good coax.

have fun,
matt
anyone wanting a "clean signal", just look to the left and build one of these!!!
