Hello DX FANS
Just run across this sb200 New tubes less than 3week on them. what is the recommended Dead key for it? I was told it took 100 Watts to fire it up.

The two 572 tetrodes need about 50 watts drive and I would not dead key more than 3 or 4 watts, maybe a little more. Watch the output!

The SB200 is an old but very reliable ham amp, I had one a few years ago and it worked super, only problem was it wouldn't do 160 meters.I usually ran close to 100 watts pep ssb into it with a Yaesu FT920 and was seeing about 600 pep out on ssb, it ran very cool with absolutely no issues at all. I don't remember ever running it on AM but on ssb it worked like a champ.
