Well I noticed a couple of weeks ago my SWR were high after there was a lightning strike that got some other stuff in the house. Today we had a thunderstorm near by and there was a strong gust of wind. My son came in and told me the antenna was pointing west. I looked and it was bent at the area where the Fiberglas meets the metal. That is where I suspect the lightning may have hit. Then again it may have just been the wind, who knows.

Well it does solve my problem when I tilt the antenna. Since it is broke, I won't have to have my son sit on a ladder in the middle of the road holding the antenna up so cars can get by. He will be glad about that.

WR,I have seen that for myself. Kinda looked like a big wet noodle hanging from a pole. Had to be lightning.

I have an Antron but I don't want to use it with my beam. It does not really matter right now because I am moving the radio room anyway, so it will be at a minimum another month before I can get to that. I have to re-route all my wiring to the new location and that will take me quite awhile, plus some of it is attic work with the coax and ground wire. Oh Well I need to shut this thing down and conserve battery life. I am going to Seattle Washington today and I'm in the Airport. Catch up with you all later.

Got home the other day from Washington and the antenna is pointing straight down. I guess it's dead. Oh Well, I guess I'll have the viewing when I get it down.
