Just got a new General Lee that is dead keying 1.5watt and only swing 3-4watt.swr is right at 1.3 on channel 1 and 1.4 on 40 It was supposed to swing 20-30.Did I get a bad radio or i'm I missing some other problem?Thank for any help you can give me. |

Thawk446,The General Lee is probably the most solid radio around. What kind of meter are you using to measure the radios output? Is the mic working correctly and do you have the mic gain turned all the way clockwise? Do you have the radio connected to a sufficient power source of 13.8 volts? If mobile the positive lead should run direct to the battery terminal. If base you should have a minimum of a 10 amp power supply. Thanks for the replies.After checking everything I could think of a half a dozen times I tryed my cousins meter and it checked out fine with his.(junk meter=wasted time)thanks again |
