Which Diode too cut for (new)model 2950 ?
Your Mod box has #D59 your arcive has #D63 ?

1. Cut D-63 located next to VR-8 TX. Frequ.pot.
2.At J-28 cut the Black wire close to the connector.
3. Now solder the cut wire to the point marked
8-volts at J-29.
NEWEST Rci-2950 DX..

See the Mods Topic(don't cut the black wire).
#1 Remove D-63 & R-115,By Lifting.
#2 See J-28, F-1 add wire too this black wire (over lay).The other end Add too 8-V at J29,
J29 is a TEST only connector(black in color).
