I get a low (power)hum noise when I turn on my Freq. counter on. I hear there was a fix for the galaxy but could not find it. Can someone help me with this problem?

Take the cover off the frequency counter module. You will see a 100uf capacitor. Replace it with a 1000uf capacitor. After doing this you wont be able to put the cover back on. I had a galaxy 88 that had this hum you are talking about, I sent it to the galaxy tech in CA. and this is what he did to it. Same radio as the Voyage vr-9000. I have did this to 2 others including 1 that I have now and it took care of the problem..

Just get one from an old junk radio,I never throw out old radios lots of good parts,its called recycling lol.
