Ok I have a question about antennas, I am thinking about changing out my mobile antenna. I currently have a K40 with a Wilson short load mast. It does ok in good conditions but I was thinking (I know that is a terrible thing for me  ) I also know that a lot of folks out here like the Wilson 1000 or 5000 but personally the base on the K40 is as wide as I would like to go, (diameter). I am trying to keep it as sleek as possible without loosing too much performance. Anyway I was looking at the Diamond CR-11 and was wondering if anyone has used one of these or might know anything about this antenna. I have Magnum 257 pre-Blue LEDs as my radio of choice. Any input would be greatly appreciated...

I cannot say I have used a Diamond antenna for 11m use, but I do use one for moble 2m/440 and it works great. My buddy uses only diamond antennas for his qth. Real good quality construction.
The only thing I would be concerned about, and it may not be a concern of yours, is that, that particular antenna is rated at 200w. I would probably melt it if I was using it. The Wilson 1k is rated at 3000 watts. Quite a bit of differance.
Oh, and by the way, you still have to buy some type of connector/magnet to attach it to your vehicle as well as buying coax.

Diamonds are great antennas if you have them matched properly. I use at times 2 MD200 Diamonds. These have changable loads so they have many uses. I would never get rid of mine although they are only good for 1000 watts which I have never had to put through them to gain a contact. I have made contact to South Africa with them on 10 meters although a simply reset they are great on 11 meter.

Take a look at the Z180 that Copper now carries. Might be just what your looking for and the performance review is unbelievable.

Larsen antenna makes the 27-NMO antenna which is a pretty narrow coil that screws onto an NMO mount. The whip is 49" long and trimmed to your freq.
It is not very broadbanded but it does ok and is fairly low profile. I ran one on an NMO trunk lip mount using a Magnum 257 in a 1996 Impala SS and I had no complaints of its performance (obviously not as good a my W-1000 on the roof of my Suburban, but given the limitations of the antenna, I was happy).
