i have a wilson 2000 mounted on a steel pole in stake pocket of pickup box on a exd. cab ford truck about 4" above cab . in the process of putting a kl500 on it my swr on ch.1 is 2.1 20 is 2.5 40 is 3.2 i tried a ground from base of ant. to frame and to battery no difference .cut about a inch off ant. to get swr from 3.2 down to 2.1 should i keep cutting ant. or try different ground any suggestions

is the steel pole actually attached to the stake pocket or just sitting in it?? Try attaching it to the pocket with some metal screws. It may help
