i have a wilson 2000 mounted on a steel pole in stake pocket of pickup box on a exd. cab ford truck about 4" above cab . in the process of putting a kl500 on it my swr on ch.1 is 2.1 20 is 2.5 40 is 3.2 i tried a ground from base of ant. to frame and to battery no difference .cut about a inch off ant. to get swr from 3.2 down to 2.1 should i keep cutting ant. or try different ground any suggestions |

is the steel pole actually attached to the stake pocket or just sitting in it?? Try attaching it to the pocket with some metal screws. It may help
