I have a cobra 29 ltd nw. It will work fine on just an antenna. When you plug the ground side of the coax connector to any ground on the amp or just touch it to ground it shorts out the system. I tried it with another amp and worked fine. Tried amp with another radio and it worked fine. Its gotta be in the radio but i cant figure it out. Any of you techs have a clue?

Can you give some more details about the install?
What type of antenna are you using and how it is mounted?
Also how are you running DC to the radio and amp?
