Hey 307,
I read your review on this product, and I have a question. You mentioned that when the switching takes place that the input is connected to the antenna. Does this mean that there is no simultaneous connection to both inputs, and the antenna for receive ? Or does the switch really just disconnect one of the inputs when RF is sensed by the other ? I would hope that you could have receive with both radios that are connected to this switch, and the switch would just disconnect one of the radios while the other is in transmit. Otherwise this switch would only be practical for a test bench, and only for working transmit functions. Please clear this up for me. I would like to place a order. |

RX on both , TX on one...I just checked mine , I never thought of that...

I got my hands on one finally, and found that it does not connect the antenna to both radios for simultaneous receive. It just switches in the antenna when one of the radios are keyed, and will switch to the other radio if it is keyed. I guess it is still handy, but having both radios receiving at the same time would have been much more fun. The manufacturer states on the packaging that "It is equipped with a specially designed relay which enables to receive both receivers simultaneously" It just dont work that way. I tested 3 of these, and they all worked the same way. Too bad... |

Hey 307,
Did you happen to check for continuity between the centers of all the SO-239's on the switch. I only get one path from input to antenna, until you key a radio through the other input. |

i've never checked for continuity on mine but
i'll tell ya i can't see nor hear "any" diff. in
the recieve between two rigs hooked up.i just love
this switch!only 3 things i don't like about it;
1-handle more power
2-a lower price
3-would like to build my own,but they scratched
off all part numbers!
my father is a ham-op and he remembers seeing an
article in QST/or some publication showing how to
build your own switch like these.only problem is
he is a packrat and can't find this particular mag
azine.said it was published back in 1968 or so!
