I bought a new digital SWR and power meter last week from Copper and it is the Euro CB model. I know it is a fairly cheap unit (40.00)but I am only going to use it to check my mobile from time to time. The unit works great giving me a reading of 4 watts and a SWR of 1.2 on my Uniden 68 LTW that is also brand new from Copper. The problem is that I can't get any reading after I put my little KLV40 inline that I have had for a little over a year. I ran my jumper from the antennae side out of the amp to the RTX on the meter, and then my coax to the antennae side on the meter. The amp has never been smoked or never has even got hot. Has the amp been dead since I got it and never even known it, or am I hooking up the meter wrong? Like I said the meter works great when you don't try to go through the amp. With the amp hooked up the meter comes on and everything like normal it just wont give me a SWR reading or a power reading, I key the mike its like there is nothing there. If I remove the meter my needle on the radio definitely swings farther with the amp on than off but maybe that doesn't mean anything. Thanks for any and all help. Dawg

In my previous posting I am sorry if anyone was under the impression that I bought the kv40 from Copper. I did not buy the amp from Copper I bought it from a place in Florida. Does anyone have any ideas why I can't get any readings on this meter with the amp hooked up? I know the radio is getting out with the amp on, but I don't know how well as the only response I get for a radio check, if any is, "it's working". I am more than satisfied with everything I have bought from Copper and will do business with them for any future radio equipment. Thanks. Dawg

OK, I have replaced the defective jumper I was using for the meter. I now get the same swr reading of 1.2, but the power reading coming out of the k40 says 2.5 watts dead key with te amp off and .09 watts with the amp on. Why is this? I do believe I got ripped off by this guy in Florida. Dawg

Hello! I pulled the cover off of the little amp and found a couple of loose parts that I re-soldered. Everything is working as it should now am getting 25 watts deadkey and a swr of 1.2 thanks.
