I am seriously considering this radio as the next purchase; I haven't been able to come across any reviews by owners or techs; can anyone who has (or had) one give me an opinion?

it all depends on what YOU compare it to. could be better then anything you've ever had, or it might not. listen to one alongside what you currently use & see for yourself.

We have ben VERY VERY HAPPY with the performance of our 2995DX on Transmit and Receive in 10/11/12 Meter use.

We use the JCD-201M Desk Mic with ours and have always received EXCELLENT audio report's of Clear and Loud!.

The receive is also excellent.

In my personal opinion there is just not another export radio out there that offers you the features, performance and overall quality of the 2995DX radio.

Except the 29970DX Mobile.

I love mine! The only problem I had was when the power supply gave out. I got it fixed. The new models don't have that problem. I love all the features it has and the power too.

I have the radio for about 1 week now and am impressed... Just ordered the JCD-201m mic this morning. Thanks for everyones views on the radio and mic!! I would have taken patzerozero's advice to try and listen to one, but no one any near me has the radio that I could find and I have no local shops in my area to visit.
