A friend purchased an RCI 2980 WX from a local shop. They apparently installed a speech processor as part of his "peak and tune" that is controlled by a toggle switch on the back of the radio. The improvment to this persons audio is like night and day when the processor is turned on. I have not been able to get into his radio yet to see which processor was used. I own a 2995 DX and wish to have a similar upgrade made to my radio but not by the same shop my friend used. Does anyone know what speech processor would be a good match for the 2995DX? Is anyone familiar with this modification?
