im getting 2 pounds of a buzzing sound in my radio for the last 3 nights this is something new to me.It doesnt do it during the day only at night.how can i find where its coming from and what it is? i cant hear anyone on the radio to well thats over 15 miles away now cause of it.

Sounds like it could be some sort of faulty lighting system.Do you use any florescent lighting,could also be a problem with a street light or also someones security system.Try taking a walkie talkie and take a look around the neighborhood for where the noise is the loudest.let us know what you find.

nope I have no floresent lights in my house.there is a street light thats out on the other side of the street but its been out for a year so i dont know why this buzzing just started.I did take my walkie talkie out last night its a walkie talkie with a signal meter.The strongest reading i get is 1 s unit under the street light thats out but there is also a transformer there to.its so bad i cant even talk on my radio at night anymore.

sounds like the transformer is getting lose laminations that are buzzing. That may, under some conditions, cause a fluctuation in the ac voltage, which in turn maybe causing the noise. tell the power company that the transformer on that pole is buzzing badly .

The reason that it does it at night, is due to the fact that although not working, the system is trying to ignite that street light. tell them the light is out too.
