Hello All......I'm new here and just purchased an imax.....I want to use it for 10 meters....the local freq is 28.450. will it be necessary to trim the top whip...or just run the rings up a bit? any advise is appreciated.

The Imax is good for 10,11,and 12 meter. The tuning rings should get the job done. No need to cut on it.

Leave the rings alone and use a tuner.

I trimmed mine with an angle grinder into 2' pieces so it could fit in the garbage bin. But i agree with Kenny. The tuning rings are called that for a reason. If you are just using it on 10m then tune it to your band and it will be all sweet. SWR will probably be ok to use on 11m if you so desire.

Well.....thanks for the replies......I trimmed 11.5 inches.....and raised the rings a few turns....and the swr on 10 meters...is flat across the band.....seems to be working well.....thanks again for the replies folks.
