I am fairly new to CB's, and very new to installations, but I tried to do one anyway. I tried to install a Workman Single-Tone roger beep board to my Cobra 29 NW WX ST radio. When installed, I only get sound through my external speaker with talk back. The transmit meter on the face of the radio does not move when the mic is keyed up, and I cannot hear myself through the talk back. I followed the instructions given, but am unsure what the problem could be. Any help would be appreciated.

Joeb:
I have installed many of the single tone roger beep circuits in radio's with success but have never had any luck so far in installing one into a new cobra with the sound tracker, my problem was the beep turned into a really loud fart. haha, but anyway it sounds like your transmit wire is either off or not making a correct connection, even if its is you will still get audio through talkback if the audio wire is making its connection good enough, try resoldering the transmit wire, or check the roger beep circuit board for a torn trace strip or a bad solder joint. be carefull when soldering to board, these are very sensitive to heat.
Good luck and 73's
