Has anyone ever grounded a magnetic mount antenna? I do know that a direct grounded antenna works better than a magnetically coupled antenna and was wondering if anyone has tried this and what were the results (better swr, better bandwidth, reducing rf problems etc).It would be nice to hear any comments.

my current triple mag mounted predator 10k does NOT use any added ground wires. i've done it in the past with an old super penetrator center load, hustler, van ordt and wilson 2k & 5k-all center loads, never base loaded. the only benefit noticed was a decrease in rfi to the vehicle-if it even experienced any. while the added ground wire made me FEEL better in the 'old days', i honestly don't think there was any noticeable improvement in performance. i now use 9913 or better on my mag mounts & that alone reduces rfi 95% or better. adding a ground to my single mag did NOTHING on my durango for rf. the triple mag came with high quality 8x/95% shield & that alone cut rfi in half. the added ground showed no difference. the 9913 made the ecm controlled vehicle totally driveable....even with considerable amounts of rf power on board.
