I just tried to order an Anttron1700 mobile antenna, but they are no longer available. What else will tune on 10&11 meters without a tuner?I was looking at the K40 trucker and K40 trucker plus. What is the difference in the way they work besides the coil looking better on the plus? Will they tune 11 meter and 10 from 28.300 to 28.500 for Technician privileges? Is there a better choice?
Thanks,Freddie

These antennas say they have a 1.6mhz bandwidth, but has anyone actually seen that in the real world?
Thanks,Freddie

The 102 inch stainless steel whip has great possibilties for 10 and 11 meter bandwidth. Depending on the mount you use and a spring you can get varoius center freqs.Tuned at 1.1 in the cb band mine gets well into 10 meters with less than a 2.0 swr and the same much below the cb band.
I also discovered that the Predator 10K with its very wide diameter shaft is broadbanded quite well.
The facts are the longer the antenna and the wider the shafts is what is going to be the best broadbanded mobile antennas.73

Buy a screwdriver antenna and never ahve to worry about antenna bandwidth again. Or if you feeling constructive try building one..

Well,a 102 whip is too tall and the screwdriver looks really cool but is way outta my league.I`d just like to know if anyone has gotten the kind of bandwidth I need out of a k40 trucker or k40 trucker plus.
Thanks,Freddie

Fred ....

I use a HAMSTICK ( workman clones ) and simply reset the rod ......

Workman makes one for under $20 ( 10 meters )
They also come in 40, 20, 17, 15, 12 and 6 meters all fit the standard mounts ......
On 6 since 66

Thanks Bruce,I might have to do something like that if I can`t find one I don`t have to mess with.I called a tech at k40 and he said one of them should do what I want, but I wanted to see if anyone actually saw those results before I ordered it,but I went ahead and ordered it yesterday.Guess I`ll find out in a couple of days.

I had a mobile antenna mag mount that I got here in Canada that was made in Texas it was a couple of inches longer than a Wilson 1000 and was able to go very low in frequency lower than a Wilson and it would cover 10 meters also and seemed to work fine. It was called an Everhardt MM1015 6ft mag. mt.
