Hi,i have a palomar skipper 300 amp, on the tube board there are 7 ceramic disc capacitors with the markings .1uf UCC, what would the voltage rating for these caps be? Thanks |

Well it depends on he size of the cap and the type. UUC stands for United Chemi-Con (UCC) the manufacture. Are they ceramic or electrolytic? Ceramic are usually round and flat and vary in size and voltage. .1uf is the capacitance rating in micro farads.Where it is a tube amp that is involved I would suspect that they would be high voltage 300 to 700 volts dc.Look and see if there are any voltage ratings on the cap and it might also show the value on a schematic. The caps are round and flat ceramic disc with no other markings than the .1uf UCC,the schematic shows .001uf caps with no voltage given.I was just going to replace with 1kv caps but having trouble finding .1uf 1kv caps if the .001uf caps can be used to replace these i have no problem finding .001uf 1kv caps. Hopefully someone here has worked on the Skipper and can help. Thanks for your reply Bob |

If the schematic shows .001uf then I would replace them with those and the voltage the higher the better, 1000 vdc should be ok. Bob CEF451/VE1CZ Robert L. Spicer The days of radio are just beginning!
