Superbad, Usually there is a tag on the back of the radio with the FCC cert and place it was manufactured. Most of the time it also has the manufacturer on that same tag. to me, it looks like an old president radio of some kind, but then again it also has a band switch...hmmmmmm...good question on who made it. Hopefully someone else will chime in with the make an model:-)

The only thing on the back tag is made in Taiwan. I do remember my Uncle talking on his President. We inherited 2. One has President on the front & this one didn't. Both of them are working. I hooked it up the other night & still talking. The meter doesn't work, but I took a meter out of a cobra & replaced it. Thanks guys for the help.

Ok I did some research after I read your reply's. It looks exactly like the Grant. Don't know why it doesn't have the President Brand on it. No telling why & its old. But thanks again for the help.

It looks like my old Grant DX a export Made by President in the 1980's. It had FM/AM/USB/LSB 5 or 6 bands plus a heat sink and NO NAME ON IT. Power output after tune 25-35 watts.

the writing above & below the channel selector always wore off if your fingers were too big. it says AM-FM-SSB so it's an export president. looks like a 5 position bandswitch, A-E, so then it's a president jackson. the grant only had 3 bands.

I am having some issues with it. It comes on & works, but sometimes it will not receive or transmit, but when you key it. You can here talkback. After a little bit of turning switches it will start working again. Sometimes it don't. Any suggestions?

Check the band switch as it could be fouled up if it has not been used for a long time , perhaps a squirt of switch cleaner in all the switches & rotary controls might help , worth a try first .
