Im getting a constant 10 over s9 signal on 11 meter band (Channel 8 to 30) I should say all the channels but 8 to 30 is the worst. Iv had this problem for two weeks now.
Ok what i did today was to shut down all ac power from light pole going to my shop and house, Used my 12 volt battery backup and no change and still have static or noise what ever you call it. So i thought put cb radio in the truck still the same thing. And yes i tried 2 other radios also same thing. To discribe the noise is nothing iv heard before, It sounds like hiss and viberating wirlling sound with about 4 differnt tones? I heard about everthing you can think of! Russian woodpecker, packet, rtty, slowscan you name it. Been around radios since early 60's.Im at loss to what ever it is. But two CEF members Bruce and Unit199 heard it Via voice chat and both of them was not shur what it is. I live out in the country my nearest neighbor is a mile from me and Amish they doint have electric or ac power. Well this is what im going to do: When i go to work im going to take a field strenght meter with me and see if i can track it . I doint know if that will work? Also Harve and Bruce any more thoughts and discribing the static might help others to help? Any suggestions from anyone might help me? Oh yes i might add no other bands is affected just cb channels. Also one more thing vertical or horizontal and 2 different dipoles one is 80 meter the other is 6 to 20 meter same signal on on cb channels ??????? What ever it is has to be in my area? Help me

Do you have a 11 meter walkie talkie? that is how I found the noise I had for weeks and it ended up being a new home built behind me about 100 yards or so away. they had a power wheels electric truck for there grandson and had the charger pluged in for two weeks as soon as I had them unplug the charger it stoped the noise.

You never know, it could be some thing stupid like that.

Hal, after I talked to you, lo and behold, that noise showed up here. I am like Bruce, I think it is coming from the power lines. If it shows up again, I will try and find out where it is coming from.
