Will RF kill trees that have guy wires attached to them? I was told the RF travels via the guy wires to the trees they're anchored to and kills them in about 6 mo to a year

Airforceone Had dipoles in trees for years nope never killed the trees. But did have a direct lighting hit. BOOM tree was history but radio was ok, Ground was done the right way and surge protector took the hit.(POLY PHASER) The only way to protect your equitment...

To answer your question , Rf should not harm any trees by guy wires. Now copper wire wraped around a tree will kill it. All my dipoles around the trees are nylon rope with insulators..

Hope i helped you?

Sorry but not shure about killing trees, however if your guy wires are attached to trees and not a ground rod your Radio/Antenna/Equipment is not properly grounded.

Thanks! My guy wires are attached to oak trees with eye screws. Tower, antenna, coax (polyphaser) all grounded to copper clad rod at base of tower. 36ft #6 copper radials in 8 directions out from rod. One of them attaches to the ground rod outside my shack 60 ft away. I've got everything grounded together. Everything!

RF wont kill the trees, but the contamination from the galvanizing wont do them any good.

Depends, if there is enough RF all sorts of agencies will come out and write all sorts of citations. citations are written on paper, and paper comes from trees. So in a way RF can kill trees.

P.S.- you may also need more paper for your log book.

Just a joke- I had an A99 in an oak tree for years running all sorts of power, never had an issue. Had a few bats fly into it and die though.
