How strong is the solder on the connector with the coax? I got the coax and the solder is rubbing with the connector when i turn it and it gets tight at some point when i turn it. I'm thinking that the solder might come off and mess up the connetor with the coax.

I want to turn the connector so that i can file down the solder but it gets tight and it looks like the connector is going to turn. I'm thinking that if i turn it it might mess up the thread.

Nightlinks,

The MALE / Center Pin of the PL-259 connector should fit tight when inserted into the SO-239 connector of the radio to insure good contact.

You can unscrew the outer sleeve of the PL-259 and if needed use a pair of plier's to GENTLY turn it back and forth to remove it from the radio.

Then if needed you can gently sand the solder down on the center pin of the PL-259 to make it a little easier to install in radio or meter.

A GOOD tight fit is highly RECOMMENDED to ensure a good contact.

Sorry tech but that's not what i mean :-(

I did not know what it was called at first.

The outer sleeve of the connect is rubbing with the solder that's inside the connector. I would like to unscrew it to sand it down abit but when i go to unscrew the outer sleeve it gets really tight because the solder that's inside. I'm scared that if i apply to much presure turning it that it might mess up the connector and break the solder inside thread ( ground ).

One of the wholes has too much solder in it and it rubs against the outer sleeve of the connector.
