I have a Magnum Delta Force radio that the backlight on the Digital display is out, need to know how to replace this backlight if possible, don't want to go in flying blind as I've been told these are kinda difficult to do, would really love it if I could change the color but not an absolute Necessity, I really do want the light working though however, talk alot at night in my truck and can't see the display...thanks in advance for any information

I'll give my 2-cents here.I've had a Delta AND
Omega Force in my '01 S10 AND now a 257 (Blue) and
they all three were the same.Just way too much white noise in the RX!!!On the base they're great, but mobile I just can't stand them.I hate that too
as I would love to use my 257 for 10 meter use.
Concerning replacing the bulbs in the Delta Force they are a bear to say the least.Took me about 3Hrs and a Tylenol and I only replaced 4 of the six in it.But they were plenty for illumination of the LCD. I got rid of the rig and now the guy that owns it would like for me to do it again as they went out. They did last 5 or 6 years tho.Not bad. I told him to take it elsewhere and have whomever put in LED's instead of the incandescent bulbs and he'd probably like it better too.For some odd reason the dimmer quit functioning after my install of the new bulbs too.
I didn't care as they were about right for daytime and nightime for me.
I love the Magnum's I've owned besides the white noise problem, but they have the best RX out there as far as I'm concerned!! If it weren't for the "Amateur Bug" biting me I'd probably buy another. Great service from Sam and the crew there too.
Good luck and enjoy that fine rig sir!!!
Slim.

I absolutely love the radio, made tons of dx contacts with it, in my mobile set up, 102" stainless steel whip almost flat swr's, all across the wide band as for the white noise I really havn't noticed any, maybe a little on fm but not so bad that it annoyed me, I live about 50 miles from Springfield MO and talk to the guys up there regularly on 27.215 (ch-21) makes the trip well and the radio isn't even peaked, thinking of taking it somewere and getting that extra umph out of it, as for the backlights I just may take on that project this weekend...thanks for all the posts here guys keep em coming.
