Just bought a used one first time beam user what kind of beam have i got or did i get a bad one .
Horz. or vert. which would be best for all around talking and about how high does it need to
be i live in east tn high on the hill.

If you want to use it for local contacts, mount it vertical. If you want to make skip contacts mount it horizontal, then mount your A99 to the boom, using the beam as a ground plain.

Maco 103c is a Great little beam.
Can be mounted either Horz or Vert
I would mount it Horz for best DX (Skip) it will still do good local mounted that way too.
get it up one waveleight (36ft at feed point)

Hey guys what kind of rotor do you think i can get by with and not have many problems can't afford the big pricy ones.
