I was wondering how you guys/gals ground your HF wire antenna?
After thinking for a bit I though I try a Polyphaser, would this work on wire antenna too?
I have read over Polyphaser reviews and come up with nothing on useing them with wire antenna.
What are your thoughts?
TIA

No replys here yet so I'm thinking no one has done this or at least yet.
I'm going to order a Polyphaser and ground the wire antenna to it (Coax) and hope for the best.
I'll let everyone here know how it worked out.

HEYYYYYYYYYY BRUCE!!!!!!!

You RANG ....... LOL

YES polyphasers will work on coax fed wire antennas I run a G5RV-JR and a polyphaser on the coax as well as on all other feeds comming into the shack.

NOW 300/450 ohm LINE would be tricky however I shure someone makes a " Sparkgap" lighting arrester for them too...

This site has some info on 450 line and lighting ..

I hope that helps ...

Heck in the past I have made lightning arrestors for wire antennas from car spark plugs. As Bruce stated no reason why a wire antenna cannot be grounded.

Polyphaser on the wire antenna for a couple of weeks now and found it works ok.
What I have notice most is it cuts down on the static crashes and that alone is a big plus.
