Hello,

Which one of the 2 give the correct swr reading? I my cobra 148 gtl gives one reading while my konnex 2000 swr/watt meters gives a different reading.

I would put on the antenna side of the meters a 50 ohm load on both and a 200 ohm load on both and see what they say .....

50 ohms would read almost 1:1 and 400 ohms 4:1
if they read this they are both working.

All SWR Meter's in Mobile Radio's need to be callibrated OFTEN.

In most all mobile radio's the SWR meter is one of the cheapest part's of the radio. More for show than actual SWR reading.

I would highly suggest using an external GOOD/KNOWN SWR/WATT meter for checking your SWR.

Just my personal thought's / recommendation.

I was going to start a new thread but since it has to do with the same subject i'll ask it here.

Which meters are better the auto meter where you don't have to set it and it gives you the swr, power meter or the one you have to set manually like the dosy?

I have a KONNEX Swr / Power meter and the only thing i need to do is set the wattage and it gives me the swr reading.

KONNEX SWR-2000 it goes for like $70.00 but i got it from someone on ebay for $15.00 brand new not even a scratch on it.

But i am thinking about not using it and just buying me the dosy.
