Hello,
I got my dosy 1000 yesterday and i noticed the it gave me a DB gain. There was someone that i would normally year with a 1S - 3S swing without the meter. Now i hear that same person with a 3S - 5S with the meter on.
Is this normal?
The meter is working perfectly i think and i like the DB gain as well.

You wouldn't get any gain from the Dosy. In fact you will get a very small loss as you add equipment in your antenna feedline.
What you could have done by adding the Dosy and maybe a jumper inline is to make your radio 'see' a better/different match. That could make the meter on the radio read different than what it would without the Dosy inline.
You lucked out, sometimes it will go the other way. |

Yes i have a jumper from the radio to the dosy before it was just the coax from radio to antenna.
Sorry but i do not understand about the "radio 'see' a better/different match"?
Can you please explain.

What I meant by match is the swr reading.
When you add jumpers or equipment in the antenna feedline you will often see a different swr reading at your radio. Of course it doesn't change the swr on the antenna, it just causes a different reading on the radio meter or wattmeter.
If you have an swr meter in your radio you can probably see a different swr reading with the dosy and jumper inline or out of line.
When the radios sees a change in the swr it will often change the signal and power meter reading also.
Another way to say it, the meters in cb radios are not that accurate, they are more or less just a reference.
