hello everyone I have one more question to ask.
I rember reading about a wilson 5000 ground plane kit here but I cant find it. I have a trc447 cb a wilson 5000 antenna with a mighty mag magnet mount my swr is 1.5 :1 i have also put a rubber compound to water proof the magnet base so nothing will rust and so far so good.
SO, would a ground plane kit for a wilson 5000 help me out any????

No, the Wilson 5000 is a GREAT antenna as is.

While the GP kit can help I honestly doubht that you would even notice a difference in SWR or performance.

And with an SWR of 1.5 it is working GREAT for you. .

Hope this help's,

Go straight to the battery with both + and - wires.
Fuse at the battery.
