I have a magnum 6 pin to 4 pin cobra/galaxy mic adapter I bought from copper, my question is will it work on the magnum 257? I am hesitant to try it because of the power on pin 6 of the 257 radio. I have a RD-104 I was wanting to try on this radio if the adapter would work. I know the radio already has a power mic I just wanted to know if it would work? Thanks....

you should make sure that it is the one for the magnum and not the ranger style 6pin to 4 pin adapter. I made sure I bought the magnum style one when I used it on my 257 and it worked very good with an 636l mic.

yes I bought both of them and neither one was marked. They both look the same so I used my RCI-2970 to figure out which one went to it and marked them both. I was still hesitant to use the Magnum adapter on the 257 though only because grounding pin 6 could kill the radio... Thanks...
